Who We Are

Guardian Angels is a committed collection of enthusiastic volunteers (male / female) that get together to visit the elderly or sick in their communities. Guardian Angels was started in January 2010 and is now a registered NPO.

Our Branches

We have just under 16 branches that are operating in South Africa. Our Head Office is based in Rocky Drift and is a support centre to all the Guardian Angels town and rural branches. Contact Head Office for a list of branches and their contact details.

Our Achievements

  • We have been approved as a MySchool beneficiary – the programme through Woolworths supporting schools and charities
  • We were awarded the runner up award for Community Service, through LCBT in October 2010
  • In 2011 we won R10 000 through Nedbank and their “Local Hero’s” competition
  • We opened our head office and charity shop after 1 year
  • We own a building in Daantjie trust area that our elderly visit daily and we run a soup kitchen from there

What We Do

The main aim of Guardian Angels is to impart love and companionship to the elderly located in their own residential homes.

Our volunteers visit one or two elderly persons each week. Later the volunteer can assist by transporting the elderly to town for shopping errands or a doctor’s appointment.

We also enjoy spoiling the elderly on certain days like Mothers / Fathers day and Christmas. The Nelspruit community is wonderful in offering us venue’s and assisting with the catering.

Should any of our elderly have a desperate need for an item / a necessity – we will purchase it out of our funds or find a donor i.e. linen, clothing etc.

Why support Guardian Angels

Everyone will get old one day and we feel that in a lot of our societies the elderly are rejected and neglected. To be a Guardian Angel volunteer means that you bring some sunshine and love into their lives, where perhaps there was nothing before. We ask you to support our organization in showing the elderly that they are still worth our time, after all they did help us get to where we are today.

How you can help

Volunteer your time: Join as a volunteer and be allocated to an elderly to visit weekly and attend our monthly meetings.

Volunteer your talents: You can join us and offer us your music talents, or craft talents – so when we need you we can merely get you to step in and help us here.

Volunteer for Head Office: We looking for non working volunteers to help our head office in various other areas of organizing, fund raising, marketing or working in our charity shop one morning a week.

Let your business support us as “your charity” and earn BEE points. We have elderly of all racial groups and need as much financial assistance as possible.

Support our charity shop located in Rocky Drift with all your unwanted items, clothing etc. Why not do a spring clean of your cupboards and drop off all your items with us?
